MLK Parade
Special shout out to our Grand Marshalls: Tammie Fields from Spectrum News channel 13 and the Lake Mary Little League WORLD CHAMPS! We even had an Olympian Omari Jones join in the festivities!
There were a total of 32 parade participants in this year's event including Flag bearer Antonio Ortiz, Oviedo Marching Band, Grant Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Greenway Ford, Oviedo Christian Minister's Association, Mayor Sladek, Oviedo City Council, Oviedo American Legion Memorial Post 243, League of Women Voters of Seminole County, Boys Town of Central Florida, Johnson Hill - Washington Heights Community Outreach (including Bronze Medal Olympian Omari Jones!), Gril Scout Troop 2422, Mission Road Church of God in Christ, UCF Jazz Quartet, Hagerty and Oviedo HS BSU, SemDems, State Farm Insurance -Jeffery Cambell, Troop 608 and pack 608, Oviedo Bowling Center, Oviedo Police Foundation, Zoomin and Groomin, Sonic Drive In, OCIA, Seminole County Sheriff's Office, Oviedo Fire Department, Seminole County Fire Department, and Oviedo Police Department.

Fun Day in the Park
Here are a few highlights from the fun we had at Center Lake Park:
The Fun Day in the Park was hosted at Oviedo's Center Lake Park by DJ E-Rok and his live band!
The Hagerty High School Black Student Union went head to head with the Oviedo High School Black Student Union in the Brain Bowl competition. Hagerty High School Black Student Union won first place, earning a $500 prize, a trophy, and a year of bragging rights!
Congratulations to Lt. Jermaine Walton who was awarded the "I Have A Dream" Award from Oviedo Citizens in Action, during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. festivities. His dedicated service to the community makes a difference.
